The poodle paintings derive from watching Paul Morton when he toured the 'real' China and visited dog parlours, which are relatively new concept there. Dyeing their pom poms are popular, so why not bring them to the UK?
The second 'set' is a popular concept as there beautiful shoes everywhere. The idea for 'In their high heels' came from my granddaughter's selection which she can only wear when being transported in a car! It stretched my imagination to decide what to wear with them and of course they had to go onto a red carpet at a film premier.
'Spots or leopardskin?' are actually mine. After finishing the painting, I realised that the scene could be interpreted as three drag queens or even a man sitting between two women!
The 'Posh shoe shop' is from my imagination of where you would find designer shoes such as Manola Blahnik and Jimmy Choo. A friend showed me a beautiful book of designs which inspired this composition.
Perhaps the 'Pondering' is a release after wearing these shoes, with a treat of liquorice allsorts.
